FARMERS’ invites you to their spectacular lavender farm high in the hills of mid Wales where in a one day workshop you will create your own year round wreath or headpiece.
Rachel Trevor Morgan, Hat Maker is milliner to The Queen. She also loves wild swimming and hill walking in Wales and finds the Welsh countryside conducive to creativity.“I gave a talk in the barn at FARMERS’ two years ago to a packed audience of hat enthusiasts. This time I look forward to putting my millinery eye to work with your fabulous finds, helping to turn them into festive headpieces. I’ll also bring along a few decorative treats from my studio to share.” Your design will be a circlet to wear upon your head or be used as a wreathlet around a candle.
Claire Thorogood, Artist and Couture Designer draws and paints and is intrigued and amazed by what can be found in forests and fields. “I have a lifelong passion for floral styling and look forward to sharing my creative skills and knowledge to help you make a beautifully stylish organic twig wreath. I love that you don’t need any experience in floristry to enjoy and get the most out of this great workshop.” The wreath you take home will be your own creation, and Claire will provide tips on how to enhance it throughout the year’s changing seasons.
You will have the opportunity to take in the lavender farm’s beautiful surroundings whilst foraging for twigs, bark, lichen and more to turn into your desired work. You can also browse in the farm shop and try FARMERS’ nourishing body care products.
All workshop materials are provided. Do bring along your favourite pair of secateurs if you have them and a gathering basket too, if you wish.
Please wear good walking shoes – or wellies if it’s wet – for the foraging walk.
If you’re not up for a forage there are plenty of places to spend an hour with a book or magazine and a fresh cup of coffee. There will be plenty of pre-foraged items for you to work with.
